16 year Old Girl Dies in Single Vehicle Collision

Gardaí are investigating an crash that happened on Cliff Road, Newtown, Tramore, Co. Waterford at 8.20  Wednesday evening in which a 16 year old girl lost her life.

The teenager who was a passenger in the car sustained fatal injuries when the car struck a wall near the Carrigeen Lea Housing Estate.

She was rushed to  to University Hospital Waterford where she sadly passed away late last night, a post mortem is due to be carried out later today.

The 17 year old male driver of the car, , received minor injuries and was taken to University Hospital  Waterford, while the two other passengers in the vehicle, a female and male, both aged 17 years of age, suffered serious injuries and were also removed to University Hospital Waterford.

The Cliff Road in Tramore  is currently closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place.

An incident room has been opened in Tramore Garda Station
