“Cycle 4 The Kidz”

On the 14th of June 2014, Aidan Murphy, Ian Graham, Gareth Ryan, and Robbie Gourmley are taking part in the Cycle 4 the Kidz to raise money for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin & the Le Chéile Youth Club, Carbally, Dunmore East, Co Waterford. The 4 cyclist have kindly offered to cycle a 170km starting at Crumlin Hospital to Dunmore East to raise much needed funds for both these worthy causes.

In May 2014, the Le Chéile Youth Club will be the first youth club to open in Dunmore East in 20 years. To begin with Le Chéile Youth Club will be providing weekly youth clubs for 8-12 year olds in the Carbally, Ballymacaw and Dunmore East area of Waterford and in the future they aim to provide services for children ranging from 5 – 17. The volunteer committee have also been entrusted with running of the Carbally Community Centre and restoring the centre so it can be utilized by the community once again. Their vision is to build a new fully functional sports hall for the community, which will be the first of its kind for the local area. The Le Chéile Youth Club & Carbally Community Centre is a completely voluntary organisation and it has been thanks to the generosity of others that has helped them to get to where they are today.

Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, is a place that provides services to sick children and their families throughout Ireland but the hospital in is need of repair. In 2013, thanks to their many donors and supporters, they have opened a new cardiac unit, a newly renovated cancer ward, funded lifesaving equipment and pioneering medical research. In 2014 their ambition is to rebuild the Outpatients Department which treats over 80,000 children from all over Ireland each year.
