Good Old Country Sound

23 October 2017 Blog Country & Irish

In this blog we look at some news from the country and Irish scene, new releases and our Spotlight this week is Tommy Fleming.

Good Old Country Sound

Times are very exciting for country music at the moment, new talent always emerging, known acts filling theaters. halls etc and of course the fans of country music supporting these stars, be it buying their music going to their concerts or just requesting their song to be played on local radio. And that’s what I find amazing you can have a singer who you thought had disappeared from the music scene only to discover that the singer is actually still touring and doing really well as in the case of our spotlight this week, and In my opinion that shows the loyalty of the Country and Irish fans, and with so many good acts out on the scene,This goes for upcoming singers who are making their debut and as always the Country music fans don’t disappoint and turn out for the launch of a CD. I think there will always be loyalty to the country stars who give us great music and hours of listening pleasure and a good night out.

Country Spotlight

Tommy Fleming A singer in my opinion burst on to the scene with this amazing voice, he is an Irish singer. He rose to fame in the early 1990s after he was asked to tour the US with Phil Coulter. He soon established himself as a solo artist and found his greatest success singing traditional Irish Music, both old and contemporary. Fleming has toured extensively throughout Ireland, UK, United States, the Netherlands and Australia.

When Fleming was asked how he would describe his genre of music he confessed that it is not opera nor rock ‘n’ roll. He said that he is just “very traditional and likes a song with a good story”.

He is still touring today and you can check out his dates here http://tommyfleming.net/upcoming-events/ and if you get a chance do check out his music on youtube especially the song bright blue rose, again in my opinion this song really shows of his amazing voice.
