Operation Transformation ‘Know Your Numbers initiative
The Operation Transformation ‘Know Your Numbers initiative’ focuses on both waist measurement and BMI (healthy weight range according to height) as these two numbers are a very good indicator of a healthy size. Because so many of us are in the overweight or obese category we have normalised this and no longer always recognise when our weight has climbed above what is healthy.
BMI is important because it’s a measure of body weight in relation to height. A healthy BMI is less than 25. Unfortunately, approximately 70% of us no longer fit into this category. If we continue the way we are going 90% of us will be overweight or obese in the next fifteen years.
