Tramore Christmas Carnival 2014

18 November 2014 Latest News Local News News

TCR FM talked to a member of Tramore Tourism, Keith Daniels, to find out about their plans for Christmas in Tramore. This Christmas is due to be one of the biggest in Tramore’s history as Tramore Tourism has decided to create a Christmas paradise. “Tramore Christmas Carnival” is set to be Tramore’s biggest Christmas display in it’s history with an inflatable sofa and inflatable santas, a giant igloo, as well as a massive inflatable snow globe, a fire display and a carousel, all of which can be accessed by the public free.

These additions to the carnival will all be paid for by local businesses as well as the Tramore Amusement Park. Tramore will also have live music on the top of Patrick Street with performances from local bands and artists. Queen Street and Main Street will be closed off for this event, which will make it a lot more family friendly. This event will take place on Wednesday the 3rd of December from 5 o’clock until 8 o’clock. There will be festivities starting from O’Neill’s pub, the whole way down to O’Shea’s Hotel. The igloo will be situated outside of Cahill’s and will be 5 metres wide, filled with decorations from Cahill’s.

On Strand Street, there will be a grotto in the car-park of AIB Bank.  The Santa On Wheels event will also take place this year, as Santa will be visiting all housing estates in the area on Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th of November.

Tramore Tourism would like to apologise in advance if any streets or estates are missed, but will ensure that they will try their best to reach everyone. Tramore will also be experiencing it’s first ever Christmas Tree and lights show which will mean Christmas lights going from the top of Main Street, all the way down Turkey Road.

This is a massive achievement for the town as Tramore has never seen a display quite like this. The Tramore Community Wishing Tree will be situated across from the Tramore Tourism office, outside the old railway station. Bows will be available for the 23 foot tree from Flowers By Ray. Any donations received on the night will go to local charities
